Another weekend run of the Castleconnell section of the lower River Shannon for some club members today. Well done to Katie on her first run of it!
Lovely evening yesterday for a level 2 assessment. Well done to the great paddlers that passed! We have more people due for assessment soon too. Looking forward to seeing them all back out on the water soon!
Offaly Search and Recovery (based in banagher) provide an important service in the area. They are running their annual fundraiser, so please consider donating towards it.

We are delighted and very thankful to hear that Meelick-Eyrecourt Kayak Club has been awarded €31,719 in sports capital funding, as announced today! This will cover equipment storage containers for the club beside the new weir in Meelick, as well as floating kayak polo pitch/goals and other polo equipment (boats, helmets, BAs, etc).
In partnership with Laois Kayak & Canoe Club we ran a series of pool sessions this winter. Beginners in particular find it great to work on their skills in a warm environment before hitting the white water in the weeks and months ahead. Beginner sessions will be starting late spring/early summer.
